  • Do you offer design services? Will you work with my designer, architect, or contractor?

Master Concepts can design, plan, and present your space to create a functional product in the environment you envision. We can work from scratch, base our design on inspiration provided by the client, or work with any designer, architect, or contractor already involved in your project. The end goal of every project is to create a highly functional product for our client that gives the impression imagined.

  • Will you work with my existing cabinetry and millwork?

Do you have water damage to your existing cabinetry? Did you get a new television or appliance that doesn’t quite fit correctly? Is your current space in good condition, but just in need of an update? Master Concepts can help with all the above and more. Because we are completely custom and manufacture and finish in our own facility, we can remodel existing millwork and recreate it for our client’s specific needs.

  • What is the average cost of a project?

Each project is highly individualized and therefore costs can vary. Factors that may affect pricing include the overall scope of the project, materials used for construction, finishes selected, specialized hardware, and location of the project, etc. Master Concepts will review each of these details with you during the consultation/design processes so that you have a full understanding of the product you are being quoted.

  • How long does a project usually take to complete?

Lead times are largely based on the current workload, scale and state of the project and material availability. Smaller projects that are ready to begin may have lead times between 6-8 weeks, while a larger scale project, requiring multiple consultations with designers, architects, etc., using materials with extensive lead times, or more labor-intensive finishes, may require 20-24 weeks. Master Concepts carefully reviews each of these details during the consultation/design processes and provides lead time on a case-by-case basis with each client.

  • Do you provide samples?

Master Concepts provides finish samples for each project for the client’s final approval. Finishing is performed ‘in-house’ and is completely custom to your project. We can match paint colors or wood finishes provided, or mix custom finishes suited specifically to each client’s requirements. Samples of proposed trims, wood species, and door/paneling details can also be provided, if necessary, or requested.

  • Where will my cabinets be manufactured?

All of our products are manufactured and finished in our facility located in Bay Shore, NY. Any products included in our designs that are not manufactured at our facility (glass and mirror, specialized hardware, specified materials, etc.) are delivered to our facility to be quality-controlled and integrated into our product.

  • Who will install my product?

Master Concepts employs full-time installation crews to perform delivery and installation services of our products. Installation is included in all proposals unless otherwise noted.

  • Once I place my order, can I make changes?

Each client will have ample opportunities to revise their plans during the design process. Once a project has been moved from the design phase into production, change requests may be possible, but may also become more difficult to accommodate. If at any point during your project you have a new idea or question, one of our staff members will be able to review it with you, in detail, to accommodate requests as best possible.

  • Do you offer additional services such as stone fabrication, electrical, or plumbing integrated into the cabinetry?

Master Concepts has a large, and ever-growing network of contractors and vendors whom we have extensive relationships with and highly recommend. Whether stonework, electrical, plumbing, tile, general contracting, interior design, or audio/visual work, if Master Concepts cannot provide a service or product, we have a capable trusted source, who is prepared to accommodate our clients as one of their own.

  • How do I properly care for my cabinetry?

Wood finishes that have been made to last, can take on a “used” appearance over time. Quality products need routine maintenance to preserve a quality appearance. Wood, even when finished, is still sensitive to outside elements, such as light, heat, and moisture.

Moisture is the biggest enemy of all wood products. All spilled liquids should be wiped away immediately and the surfaces cleaned. All surfaces should be protected from heat, as well as wet or colored objects.

All wood surfaces should be cleaned with a soft cloth and dampened with a very mild soap solution, followed by a dry cloth to remove any excess moisture. Typical household cleaners and other cleaning compounds may be used but may contain reagents that may affect the surface and should be used on an infrequent basis.
